The task
The Bundesverband Bunter Kreis e. V. supports families with seriously and chronically ill children through paediatric aftercare services. To raise awareness of the association’s vital work, our task was to identify a high-profile ambassador who is a credible advocate for families, well known across Germany, and willing to leverage her own platforms.
The goal was to increase media visibility, attract political attention, gain new supporters, and ultimately give affected children and their families greater public recognition.





The implementation
To identify a suitable ambassador, we defined clear criteria: a high-profile public figure with notable achievements, personal family experience, strong media presence, and a demonstrated commitment to social causes. Former speed skating champion Anni Friesinger-Postma fulfilled all of these—and was genuinely inspired by the work of the association.
We organised visits to aftercare centres with press representatives, facilitated personal encounters with affected families, and arranged for her to be prominently featured on the organisation’s website. Further outreach included articles in parenting media, radio segments, video messages for member assemblies, and impactful charity appearances on television.
The result
Communication spanned television, radio, print, online media, social media, and public events. Anni Friesinger-Postma’s credibility and personal dedication helped reach new families, partners, and supporters. Her active network also created valuable new connections.
Members and staff of the association received greater recognition and media attention. Daily news outlets and parenting magazines covered the collaboration, and thanks to the high-profile ambassador, the association’s media reach increased significantly.
